Keepsakes, Knickknacks and Baubles – Still Life Painting (Acrylic)

Sundays, Jan 19 – Feb 23, 2025
Adults and Teens ages 16 and up

Join me for a six-week class series at my studio in south Austin for a fun and engaging opportunity to enhance your art skills, meet a like-minded community, and build a strong foundation in painting.

We will build your art skills by painting your favorite keepsakes and knickknacks, focusing on color mixing and value structure. You’ll receive direct painting and color mixing instruction in a small class format, presentations with historical and contemporary art examples, and constructive weekly critiques.

You will take away increased color mixing confidence applicable across different mediums and media, take-home color mixing diagrams for continued practice, and at least one full-color painting of your chosen still-life object.

As a teaching artist, I love to share what I have discovered in my lifelong studio practice with committed students who are ready to engage in their personal and artistic growth.

My teaching is informed by my 30-year career as a scenic artist, training at the Florence Academy of Art, and ongoing research into motion picture scenic art history.

I am excited to share the thrilling diversity of what is possible within the mediums and discipline of painting.
